The breed standard states that adult cockers should weigh approximately 13-14.5 kgs (28-32 lbs). Castrated dogs tend to be more prone to weight gain. Incidently, my working cocker weighs about 15.5/16 kg, but he is just all muscle, there's not a bit of excess fat on him-just the build of him!

agreed. I have bred working cocker males that have reached 17ishkg which is off the scale when it comes to the vets computer software, but they are solid muscle. Even my oldie who is 14 soon and is getting thin and bony in his old age still weighs 16kg (and thats minus a front leg!!). Reckon the show type males I've bred are around the 14kg mark.
