At what age in your knowledge do dallys stop getting their spots?  My new dog has a couple of small ones appearing so this is making me question his age. They said he was approximately 2 but I had my doubts anyway due to his behaviour, i.e. very playful.

I've not really noticed any proper spots as such after about the flush in the first couple of months. The later arrivals tend to be flecks, and not appearing after about 18 months (except, oddly, sometimes on scars  ).

Thanks, these are just small flecks, not spots as such.

It sounds like they weren't far wrong then. Though have you seen this article featuring Senior Ticking? I must admit I've never heard of this. By about 18 months/two years the coat pattern is usually finished.

I've come across that site before, but forgot about it. There is a photo on there of Kismet, Charlie is the double of that dog, identical markings, but obviously not the size.  I think Charlie could be a cross he has an unusually large head.

My six year old dog has just aquired some of this ticking.

Neither of my previous dals had this though.
