I'm wondering whether to get another dog as a companion for my 3 year old GSP. We go for lovely walks together but as I'm getting a bit long in the tooth I can't run & play with her as I would like. She loves company of other dogs especially the males. Are "twos company" as the saying goes or is it too much like hard work? work?

If you decide to get another dog, it should be because you want another one - regardless of whether you think your current dog should have a companion. 2 dogs (with the age difference you'd have) aren't twice the work, but if you are thinking about a puppy - you'll suddenly remember exactly how much work they are when you get another one!! If you're worried about her not getting enough exercise, can you concentrate more on plyaing games which don't involve you in too much exercise, like getting her to retrieve etc. Exercising her mind is just as important, so you could do some obedience with her too. Good Luck, whatever you decide.
