hi ive got a 18 month old ddb who needs to put some weight on i feed him aurtarky twice a day with butchers tripe mixed in to give it extra taste although he does eat his meals he looks a bit on the skinny side ive tried adding tripe but he wont eat it whats the best thing to add to his food or do you think i should just change his food altogether thanks

How old is he. Reason i am asking is, i had the same trouble with one of my ddb, and i tried everything to put a bit of weight on him. I tried adding
pasta, rice, scrambled eggs as an extra, potatoes, extra meat, you name it i tried it.
None of this worked, but when he reached 14 months old he started to fill out on his own and know he is a big strong boy.
I am currently having the same problem with a bitch of mine, but i will have to wait and see what happens with her as she is only 12 months.

  i hAVE the opposite problem , none of my sbt are over weight they all get plenty of exercise and one of the dogs is overweight he eats less than the others, ive had him thyroid tested and tried alsorts. poor thing crys for more food though.!

Why does he need to put weight on? If it's just for the show ring he's still very young so I'd not make any attempt to fatten him up and would let him fill out at his own rate.
