Topic Dog Boards / Health / Limp tail Part II

Thanks for all the information about limp tail. We now have 100% waggy tail back thank goodness. My next question is: can I do anything to prevent this again. Please don't say keep her out of water, as that would be near impossible. Could it do any permanent damage if it did happen again. I am dying to take her for a walk along the riverside but have resisted so far, but now we're back to clearing the coffee table with a single wag, I presume it will be alright.

Does it really matter if it re-occurs? If you show your dog, then I guess keep her out of the water a few days up to the show, otherwise, its not really a big problem, so I would (do!) just live with it

But it made her puppy so sad to lose its wag :( Now, that's a tragedy ;)

I don't show, but I was more concerned that if it reoccurred it may do more permanent damage. She found a pond this morning and dived straight in, and still has a nice waggly tail so far!

Have never had it recurr - my lab's in the water more than she's out and she's only ever done it once.
