i have a 4 year old bitch who is on day 62 she has been digging and panting since about 8 this morning, she is very calm and is not distressed she has also lost a slight sticky mucus is all this ok ive read everything going but i just need a bit of reassurance please

Is this her first litter?  Everything sounds normal to me, just keep an eye on her when she starts having contractions and the pushing starts, you'll know when there is a pup about to be born, the water sack will be presenting.

Yes, this stage can take up to 48 hours. Watch her so you know when she starts to push.

thank you i thought it was 24 hours i feel better now, i made her a bed upstairs but she wants to come downstairs with all of us very strange but she loves the attention one other question i have the stud dog too and he has been laying next to her all day is this ok as she keeps looking for him when he moves i thought that when they were in labour they liked to be left alone im a bit confused

she has had 6 puppies 5 girls and 1 boy so far they are all fine and feeding im not sure if theres more to come just have to wait

6 girls and 1 boy now and shes very calm and taking it in her stride bless her heart im so proud
