my pup has got a lung infection apparently caught from another dog when out and about or a field(he is fully vaccinated)he is really quite poorly not eating or drinking sleeping constantly and shallow quick breathing,oh and a slightly runny nose, hes been to the vet twice in the last 24 hours had 2 injetions yesterday synulox and metacam? and the same again this morning,he is very slightly better today temps gone down and we've been given some synulox tablets to give him and some rehydration support,we've got to collect a liquid form of medicine tomorrow morning for him, with him not eating much i could do with some advice as to what method to use to give him the tablets(the vets was quite busy and i was so upset i wasn't really taking everything in)he was in great health, walked regulary,he eats a good quality food is thoroughly spoilt,i can't belive how quickly he went downhill in 24 hours, with no previous signs,i really thought yesterday we were going to lose him, this infection seems so aggressive,we have another appointment in a few days to see the vet again, meanwhile he is mainly sleeping, sorry to go on i guess i'm just a bit shocked and still worrying,he's the light of my life,he's 5 and a half months and a beagle.any advice would be so appriciated, are there any sites i can look at to understand a bit more about it ?

To give him the tablets, open his mouth with one hand, pop the tablet as far down his throat as you can then hold his muzzle shut and stroke his throat until he swallows. With liquid medicine make a 'pocket' with his lips at the side of his mouth, as far back as you can, and pour the dose into this, again holding him firmly until he swallows.
Hope he gets better soon.
