My parents who now live in Turkey, have got a pup. The mother was a street dog and probably never had a home. The pup is about 5 weeks old. Locals have told them that the puppy will be untrainable because her mother was a "free" dog, They also think they are mad for allowing the puppy in the house. Do you think they will have problems?. They have always had dogs but never in these circumstances.

My neighbours parents have a dog which they rescued at the same age from a skip in Corfu. He has the most lovely temperament, not the best trained dog in the world, but that's his doting owners' fault!! Much will probably depend on the temperament of the pup's parents, but let hope they prove the locals wrong- at 5 wks I should think they stand a good chance.

I had a feral dog in the Middle East, no problems with it at all.

My Aunt took in a feral dog in Spain. She was gorgeous and was a great pet.
Good luck with the puppy.

The best Canaan dogs I have ever seen were originally feral dogs
