If you get BOB under a judge at an open show I am right in thinking that it's 'not the done thing' to go under them again at another open show they're judging at?    I have just ripped up an entry I was about to post for a show in December as the same person is judging at a show I went to yesterday.

Thanks - sarah

Technically yes it's not considered the done thing to go under the judge
again with the same dog, if you won best of breed.
Some would consider it greedy.
However you could also argue that if there's a better dog out being
exhibited that day you could also be beaten....

Also could argue if you are in a minority breed or one with falling entries at
open shows that you are trying to keep the breed classes going at 'local' open shows
that you would normally support.

I have taken my veteran dog under the same person 3 times over the last 4 years. 1st time got BOB, 2nd time got 3rd out of a class of 4, and 3rd time (at a club show) got Best dog, Best in Show & Best Veteran in Show.  If the judge thinks there is a better dog than yours on the day, then fair enough. I agree that you pay your money and take the chance.
