Topic Other Boards / Foo / New cash machines!
- By Carla Date 09.11.04 19:19 UTC
A bank recently installed a series of drive-through ATM machines that allow customers to draw money without leaving the safety of their vehicles. In order to avoid any confusion, the bank posted instructions to all of its clients so that when they make use of these new, convenient ATM facilities, they will know exactly what to do.

For ease of reference, the instructions were split between male and female:

PROCEDURE FOR MALE CUSTOMERS

1. Drive up to the cash machine.
2. Wind down your car window.
3. Insert card into machine and enter PIN.
4. Enter amount of cash required and withdraw.
5. Retrieve card, cash and receipt.
6. Wind up window.
7. Drive off.

PROCEDURE FOR FEMALE CUSTOMERS

1. Drive up to the cash machine.
2. Reverse a bit to align car window with cash machine.
3. Restart the stalled engine.
4. Wind down the window.
5. Find handbag, remove all contents onto passenger seat to locate card.
6. Turn the radio down.
7. Attempt to insert card into machine.
8. Open car door to allow easier access to cash machine due to its excessive distance from car.
9. Insert card.
10. Re-insert card the right way up.
11. Re-enter handbag to find diary with PIN written on the inside back page.
12. Enter PIN.
13. Press 'Cancel' and re-enter correct PIN.
14. Enter amount of cash required.
15. Check make up in rear view mirror.
16. Retrieve cash and receipt.
17. Empty handbag again to locate purse and place cash inside.
18. Place receipt in back of cheque book.
19. Re-check make up.
20. Drive forward two metres
21. Reverse back to cash machine.
22. Retrieve card.
23. Re-empty hand bag, locate card holder and place card inside.
24. Restart stalled engine and pull off.
25. Drive for 2 or 3 miles.
26. Release hand brake.

Obviously non of you are female drivers or you would be insulted
- By Carla Date 09.11.04 23:08 UTC
LOL! Er, yes, I'm a female driver - with a sense of humour. Thanks.
- By sandrah Date 10.11.04 10:07 UTC
I am a female driver too, luckily I haven't had a sense of humour bypass either
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 10.11.04 10:07 UTC
Mattie, if we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at?
- By mattie [gb] Date 10.11.04 10:24 UTC
Well  there is nothing wrong with my sense of humour at all  ask anyone ;)
I just found it a bit insulting and playing into the hands of people (men) who think woman are bad drivers.
Having watched a driver in front of me yesterday trying to manouver his car into the guideline for the car wash and have 6 attempts at it well
Oh and lets not forget anyone on here should be allowed their opinion  and that is mine
- By Carla Date 10.11.04 10:34 UTC
whatever
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 10.11.04 10:43 UTC
Yes, it is your opinion, and mine, equally valid, is different. Personally, I am happy for men to make jokes at the expense of women drivers....the stats show for themselves that women are safer drivers and most women I know are secure enough in their own abilities to not worry about a joke :)

We will have to start a list of what we *can* have a laugh about without fear of upsetting someone soon ;)
- By John [gb] Date 10.11.04 13:09 UTC
I already have such a list.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 10.11.04 15:03 UTC
That doesn't surprise me John :D

Chloe....I'm sorry, but I find this grossly offensive and more importantly - inaccurate !!! At points 15 & 19, I would ALWAYS check my HAIR as well as my make up !!  LOL :D  ;)  :D

I think it's brilliant and I am a woman driver!  or if my husband is asked can your wife drive, he always says lets put it like this she's passed her test!  I'm not offended I just laugh along, don't mind !
- By Alli [gb] Date 10.11.04 15:42 UTC
I thought this was sooo funny. I drive and should be offended :D
- By Lea Date 10.11.04 16:32 UTC
Seen it before but it raises a smile everytime. And is sooo true about ALOT of women drivers!!!!!!!
ALTHOUGH :-
Mens driving is atrocious in the middle of summer in towns. Seeing as they can only concentrate on one thing at once, when a young scantily clad women walks past, they forget they are in a car and their brains drop to their trousers!!!!!!!!
Lea :)

I'm also a woman driver, but it still makes me giggle !
- By dog [gb] Date 12.11.04 21:25 UTC
I think its great.
I got 11 safe driving awards with ROSPA.
More than most of my male colleagues.
