Hi, I know it's to late this year but I have been recommened to use rescue remedy in the dogs water for two week's leading up to the fireworks, it's all plant extract and can't do any harm. My Collie's used to be terrified and I tryed it this year with my little mini schnauzer and you wouldn't have known there was anything unusal going on at all, it is her first bonfire night so weather she would have been scared without it I don't know, just thought i'd post to see if anybody else uses it,
I have used it on and off for a while and have found it be very good :) It works on one of my dogs but not on the other, mind you, he is generally laid back so that is more to do with him than the remedy I should think :)
OMG, I advised someone to take it to calm their nerves for a driving test as that is one of the recommendations on it. And I was originally put onto it by my doggie homeopathist Now I KNOW why Murf is SOOO laid back, he's a secret dipso :D :D :D
5x dilution of flower extracts - Rock rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, Cherry Plum.........in a Grape Alcohol Solution! Doesn't say volume of alcohol?
Directions- Provides support at times of emotional demand such as before a driving test, interview, exam or flight or when you simply need a little help.
If the alcohol solution is that strong, you will need more than a little help :D
Star of Bethlehem: For trauma and shock.Clematis: For the tendency to "pass out", and unconsciousness, being 'far away' and not present mentally.Cherry Plum: Fear of mind giving way, verge of breakdown, anger.Impatiens: For irritability, tension and fidgety. Rock Rose: For frozen terror and panic.
I've got both the drops and the spray for my lot and it seems to have worked a bit on poor buds who is only 8 months and absolutely terrified of the fireworks.its such a shame:(
Scullcap and Valerian Tablets are good too ( you can get them from Dorwest Herbs ). The Tellington Touch people reccomend 'wrapping ' your dog as this has a very calming effect - an old t - shirt will do :)
Sal is Candie scared of them too ? Just wondering as I think Libs took it quite well due to the fact that Gus was not bothered by them if you see what I mean?
I think im going to try a bottle myself as Pete is working away tonight and it's the first time by myself in 35 yrs, think Kizzy will come to bed with me as well. Viv
