So who else will be going in a weeks time. Its on both Saturday and Sunday, i LOVE discover dogs, its so great havving all the breeds in one room, speakingmto differnet people!!!!
What is this and where is it, very interested
Discover Dogs is on at Earls Court next Sat and Sun. Basically its a HUGE show where each breed has its own stand, you can go round talking to different people, ask them about their dog. All KC breeds are there, its a great place for people considering getting a new puppy!!!

BullBoy please learn something, it is not a show but an event!!! Also it is not HUGE! It is no larger then any normal champ show and only a fraction of the size of crufts (infact it fits into crufts quite easily!!!)
Its a great way to find out about other breeds and talk to breeders and owners of each breed. Also the SCRUFTS finals are held there aswell as agility, flyball, force dogs etc displays.
The YKC gooming competition qulifier for crufts is also held there...one more week for sonja's coat to grow so I can make a big mess and mistake when grooming her!!!
I will be found on saturday running around paniking while properly learning more about tollers and teacher more about aussies and red and whites!!! (while also taking time out to fail a grooming competition!

Well, we were looking at one of the Dorwest remedies for friends this afternoon, who wanted to give their nervous dog something as they were going out tonight & were anticipating more local fireworks - after reaing "40% alcohol volume for the carrier" - husband decided that HE wanted it when he was stressed!!! Admittedly, you can smell the brandy in it.........
Margot

I wonder if you had enough you could get drunk....

Why have you got a hedgehog in your show box???

I'm saving it from all those silly people who build piles of sticks in their gardens and then set them alight after a hedghog crawled in :(
:)
Ok were kinda going off the subject here YET AGAIN, i didnt ask you too worble on, i asked who else was going, so simple, please try and follow it people!!!!

Oh sorry for having a chat with my fellow exibitor and friend Margot....if you don't like what has been posted then maybe you should complain about then to admin... :D and if you have something against me...do you wish to take it outside? :D

oh and don't get so stroppy, its only afew posts :D whats wrong?

Hi,
I've never got around to going to Discover Dogs, but I am going to make the effort this year.
I have been looking for websites to give me more information, like parking, how easy? cost of entrance, etc. But have only found the KC site so far. Would anyone on here be kind enough to give me some more information on above questions and their general view on it? :)
The only thing that puts me off is that I have heard that there are lots of doggy goodies to buy and I will probably bankrupt us by the end of the day :D mind you, I don't normally let a silly problem like spending put me off ;)
Hi there,
The parkings easy - it costs £10 (well it did last year) and is attached to the venue. I wouldn't recommend trying to find a parking space on the street.
The tickets are £8.50 for adults (and possibly £5.50 for children, but don't quote me on that as I don't have any, so have never paid much attention to the prices for them)
I think its a good day out and generally spend an absolute fortune

Thank you for that, :) Its really all I needed to know.

I think the only site is the KC one...not very imformative...however you can go and come back with all your money if you leave all your cash/cards/cheque book(/anything valuble ;) ) at home, but then whats the point in going if you can't take anything back to your beloved dog(s) you abandoned :D

ice queen, you are sooo right ;) I would never forgive myself if I abandoned them for most of the day and then came home empty handed
It would be like going to a toy shop for the sprog and then coming home without goodies :D And anyway, Christmas will soon be here, so that's a VERY good excuse to spoil them.......AGAIN!!!!!

Ahhh come on christmas comes every day for our darling doggies... :D
Let us know what you buy, the pink furry coat and the new expensive toy that will be riped with 60 seconds :D or is that only my lot? ahhh I do love them! :D

Put it this way...... have just bought Murf the Galileo version of the Nylabone, he had the durable version and destroyed it within 12 hours, Galileo is going same way

So am very wary, due to past experiences of buying an "indestructable toy", as for pink furry coat, I think this would give him a complex whilst out socialising with his peers, and we couldn't possibly have that, could we? :D
Have thought about the solid gold feeding bowl though :D :D, not to mention the Dior heated, massaging foot pad :D

Would love to go but dont want to leave the dogs that long! Why cant they let us bring our dogs too( i know, its mostly for people who havent chosen their dogs yet).

Hi Sullysmum,
I too would love to take my dogs, but have a great friend who will sit in with them and spoil them rotten all day :)
Thinking about it, if people met my holigan (Murfee) they would go away thinking, sod that, we're never having one of those :D :D dribble, unwelcome smells

kleptomania, bullying, mugged for the smallest tit bit, decidely VILE unmentionable habits, Whereas, if they met my little lady they would be soo hooked they would be queing up in their droves ;) I suppose that's the difference between boys and girls :D Not that I am biased or sexist or anything :D

My hubby said he would look after the girls but hes not 100% well, so i wont leave him just incase, we would all like to go to DD for a lovely day out,but never mind, i would rather have a wonderful hubby and wonderful dogs!

Earls courts not big enough to accomadate everyones dogs and also it is stressful for dogs just walking around all day, no proper area to rest. The dogs on stands should be there for no longer then 4 hours!

I would have thought it was big enough as they used have Crufts there before it moved up North?

yes when crufts was VERY small!!!! ;)
Crufts has since growen while at the NEC and taken up more and more hallsover the years! Crufts today would not fit into earls court in any way shape or form!

Oh i see, i havent been to Crufts either, how long has it been at the NEC?

Crufts moved to the NEC in 1991.
:)

Blimey, i didnt realise it was that long ago,i must be getting old!!!!!!

wow now I know the exact year it moved!!! does anyone remember when it took over hall 5 aswell? was it 98?
im going on sat booked a space in car park only 2 mins walk to earls court nice and close so i can keep unloading my arms with all that heavy shopping!!!

I decided against driving when I tried to book parking and realised it was £17

So I am slumming it with my friend on Sunday, I will be taking my own lunch (last year I waited for ages and the food was crap and expensive) and claiming lots of freebies :D I must sound a right miserable cow :D
Sarah
its cheaper for us to park there and to be honest cant be doing to the crap train service.....

We're on breed stand so parking included. However we will have 4 dogs to take in aswell as needed stuf for the 3 dogs on breed stand and all my grooming stuff....oh not to mention the parents and grandad!!! :D Luckily we will also get food vouchers for the day, but I know what you mean about prices, they are just stupid!!! If it was't for vouchers I would too take my own lunch, just make sure you take it in something you can throw away so more space in bag for those extra goodies!!!
