My bitch started her first season approx 9 weeks ago she now has some clear discharge around her vulva and it looks slightly swollen - could it be an infection? I guess i'm worried about Pyo as she is my first bitch and I don't know if i'd recognise the signs :(

She could be having a phantom pregnancy, all the signs of a pregnancy, just no puppies.

If you are at all worried you should take her to the vet who should soon be able to tell if she has an infection.

I'd take her to the vet to be checked. :)
