I have read with interest on the Behaviour thread about L Theanine. Could I please ask has anyone used it with success and what for. I have a 7 month old puppy who suddenly at 6 months for no apparent reason became very anxious when out walking and when he can see people approaching. I just wondered whether L Theanine would relax him enough to allow him to realise that no one is going to hurt him in any way.
Thanks for listenening, I hope someone can help.

Hi,
Just to let you know that puppy's can become a bit spooked by things around this age. I found that using dog treats as a distraction and talking to my pup worked well. Start by whistling at your dog, and everytime it looks at you give a treat. Then progress to a treat sometimes and lots of praise at other times. Soon everytime you whistle the pup will look at you and ignore the thing that is scaring them. Not strictly an answer to your question but it worked for us with a very nervous dog, he is two now and passes all but the scariest of things with ease, and is easy to distract now if he shows fear.
Hope this helps
