if you have a problem bath the pup this washes off the smell of where she came from and puts your smell on her and often works wonders.
Give them a few days and I expect they will be fine, but remember that your other dog must be boss and if she tells the pup off that must be allowed. Just watch at feeding time because the pup will probably want her as well and has got to learn no.
Have fun

Hi Georgina
I can't speak for anyone else, but here's what I do. Assuming you have a puppy crate/cage, when you arrive home with pup, get someone to put older dog outside in garden, take pup indoors and put her in cage. Then go outside and make a fuss of your other dog. Let her follow you back inside and discover the pup in her cage. In there she will be safe, your older dog will have chance to check her out without getting jumped on or having her nose put out of joint by the fuss you make of the puppy. Then it's just a case of playing it by ear. You should know by your terriers reaction to her when she is still in the cage as to what she thinks, but just don't risk the pup getting injured. If your terrier is fine with other dogs, she will probably be fine with the pup too. Just remember to stay relaxed, or you will put her on edge. I have little experience with terriers, and have never, and will never, own a bitch, so I cannot give you detailed advice on your dogs specifically, but that is how I introduce my dogs to puppies. Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
thank you
mollie is ok with other dogs so i hope she adjusts to lily i will make sure to make a fuss of her and so on

We have never used cages ect. We just carry the puppy in quietly, and sit down with the pup and stroke our other dog, molly will want to smell the new baby.I have a baby gate so I can feed them separatly as mine will eat the others food and fights may break out.We just supervise play times until the pup can hold her own. Our pup is 7 months old, sadie is six years and lost her friend Bess 10 months ago.Sadie has been very good with our pup. good luck i am sure she will ajust.
Sheila.
