The stud dog owner should have given you a signed Kennel Club form certifying that the mating took place, KC reg no of the sire etc which is used to register the puppies. You complete this with the bitch's registration details together with colours, sexes and proposed names for the puppies and send it off with a fee of £12 per pup.
If you used your own dog and bitch, then you need to either download the form from the Kennel Club website or ring them and get a form sent to you.
thanks both dogs are kc registered but didn't get any form from the dogs owner, this is his first time too.can you give me the web address for the kennel club and any other information on how to obtain this form thanks shirley

Have you checked that both dogs have no endorsements on their papers?
what do you mean by endorsements?

Breeders who have spent many years studying their chosen breed do not want their pups used for indescriminate breeding and so endorse their pups registrations "Progeny not to be registered" so that pups cannot be registered with the Kennel Club.
You will need to check on the sire and dam's registration papers.
hi i have seen the dogs papers and he has got good papers all red across the board as well as my bitch , does the word progeny appear on the papers if so i did not see it on his thanks shirley

Endorsements are on the registration document, not the pedigree.
:)
hi thanks for that info. so i will need to see the reg document.so will the word progeny appear on this paper and if so where shirley

it will only say it if its a problem,if the dogs are not endorsed it wont say anything
ive never seen an endorsed one,but i pressume it will be under the dogs name
thanks i hope everything is correct for breeding and i will be asking to see the reg documents as i am a bit worried now shirley

I know it's too late now the deed is done and puppies here, but I do hope for your sake that both parents have had any health checks necessary in your breed.

Don't worry - just check! :p. You can look at your bitch's, under her registration number, it says "endorsements" ...........

Like pjw has previously said, go to the kennel club website, you can download the green form Application for litter registration. The stud dog owner will have to fill out all her details, boys details and sign it, then hand it over to you for you to fill out your girls details, plus once the pups are born, all pups must be listed along with chosen names, then it has to be sent off to the kennel club along with paymentof £12 per pup registered.
Hi Shirley
The registration document is the one you had to show your vet when you took your bitch to be hipscored and also would have been "stamped" by the examiner when the eye testing was done.
The KC keep changing the Certificates but on my pup's I have:
Endorsements
R - Progeny not eligible for registration
X Not eligible for issue of Export Pedigree
On the older ones where the certificate was smaller it just says
Export Pedigree Not Allowed (this one had the progeny not eligible etc, lifted)

then there is the other possibility, which happened to my (idiot) neighbour & her pet cocker. When they went to register the pups, knowing not a THING about breeding or anything else :( they found that they had never transfered either their bitch or their friends stud dogs into their names AND they were both endorsed!!! Luckily the RESPONSIBLE breeder of their bitch, refused to lift the endoresement.
