Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / EU banning raw food?
- By Alli [gb] Date 02.11.04 23:04 UTC
Hi all

I have recently read an article in the Our Dogs breed notes section that states that the EU are planning on banning the use of tripe and such foods. I do not feed completely raw but I do know that if I have to feed meat that is only for human consumption my dogs will have to go back to processed foods. There is no way I can afford to keep buying the amount of fresh meat I currently do to feed my 3 and possibly a couple more by the time the ban comes into force.

I just wondered if anyone else had heard of this.

Interested to hear your thoughts on this matter.

New EU regulations mean you cannot now buy dog meat straight from the slaughterhouse as some people were able to do. Regular testing is now required and means more expense for suppliers.
If a supplier can comp[ly with the regulations there is no problem.

I can still get my supplies of raw food without any problem.
