Ive just exported a Staff to Czech Republic. Be prepared its a lot of hassle (I accompanied mine, so that I could check the home out etc and the purchaser visited me first to choose a puppy). PM me and Ill help you through it, the procedure is the same for all countries in the EU.

Cheers Kerrie

HI, sorry to be contradictary, but requirements differ between countries, even those in the EU, because of differing health requirments and additional legislation (EG tail docking)  Best to contact DEFRA who will let you know Swedens individual requirments.
bye

From the first of October ALL EU countries must comply to the pet passport scheme regardless of their individual requirements. Staffordshire Bull terriers are not Customarily docked, so I dont see that as a problem! Defra can only give information about general EU requirements, and advise that you contact the embassy of the country you are exporting to. They are not always fully upto date with new laws. As I have literally JUST been through this myself under the NEW regime, I have the latest EU directive and information which is why I suggested that the poster PM me :)

I am exporting a pup to Belgium next week. The one issue I came across was the age of pup. If under 3 months my vet would not give rabies jab but Belgium will accept  the pup with Pet passport without rabies vaccination, plus health certificate from vet, plus letter from me stating that pup was bred by me and had not been in contact with any other wild animals and only resided with me since birth. Our pup is travelling through France so I also needed a Derogation Sanitaire from the French Authorities allowing it to travel . as you say Defra only give out basic requirements. I made numerous calls to the French and Belguim embassies to finally sort out  what we needed to do.

I know there is so much organising, to do etc. I found it very stressful and dont think I could honestly do it again!! I travelled via Vienna, so had extra requirements

thanks for the link Anwen
it is very confessing as in 1 part it say they need to have rabies shots and in another it says they don't.

Hi,  Yes they have to conform to the Eu passport requirements, but some countries have additional regs, I used the docjing guideline as an illustration, which is why it is vital to get the individual countries info.  Scandinavia has some rather tighter regulations than a lot of East European countries.
bye Gwen
