hi my girl is in season but as i said in my other post my boy just isnt interested at all i wasnt sure if this was because it just wasnt the right time or because hes 17 months old and only ever been kept as a pet so hes very inexperienced should this make a difference as i thought any male would have the same urges experieced or not
i think when you have 2 dogs that live together, they sometimes have a brother sister mentality, its a good idea to keep them away for afew days to build up the tension and then when he sniffs her he will hopefully get excited enough. my dad has a lovely stud dog who is very experienced with vistiting bitches, but shows little intrest in the bitch he lives with when shes having her season unless shes paticularly frisky. if it doesnt happen this time you should have a good stud dog lined up for her next season, you will probably produce better pups than just using your own dog because its cheap and convinient. hope this helps let me know how you get on.
hi some dogs are slow to mature, we had a stud who was completly disinterested until he was 2/12 then suddenly he clicked and went on to sire four lovely litters. equallly not all dogs are cut out for it and some never "perform" especially with a house mate. :)
