Hi sorry to sound thick but when a breeder says pups for sale to approved homes only, what is an approved home? does it mean a garden and space for pup or something different? Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this for me

Every breeder has their own criteria which may be unique to them........  When I assess homes for rescue my criteria is "would I be happy leaving my dog here".......... :D

I would take this as a home the breeder approves of, it could mean the size of the house/garden, it could mean the area whether it is country/city, or it could simply mean that the breeders believe the owners have the knowledge and also the time to bring up the pup :)

I would take it to mean that the breeder won't just part with a pup to someone who turns up on their doorstep and that the prospective owner can be expect to be asked searching questions as to their suitability as an owner
