Has anyone heard of a Miniture Staffordshire Bull Terrier?
My local petshop has an ad in the window advertising Miniture Staffordshire Bull Terrier Puppies for sale. Or maybe they mean the shortlegged version!!!!!!! Deirdre
Miniature bull terrier but not a miniature staffie! Maybe you should phone out of curiousity!
I think some show strains of staffie are small enough as it is without breeding them even smaller :-0
I rang this morning and went to see the Pups and the mother is definately a Staffie. The owner told me he rescued her when she was 2 and she is now 5yrs old and this is her first litter and she had 8 beautiful puppies. He bred her with his sisters Staffie who is also according to him a miniture Staffie. The mother is small but more what I would call the short legged Staffie.
My wee Staffie girl Tessa went to Rainbow Bridge on 27th August aged 12 and 1/2yrs, she was a brindle shortlegged Staffie. She was my velcro dog and my best friend and we all miss her. I also have a handsome male longlegged Staffie called Charlie who is 2yrs old and 6 cats. (I have posted on the forum about Tessa before).
Anyway I fell in love with one of the pups and have put a deposit on her. She has a white stripe from her wee nose right up to her forehead and she is a dark brown/blackish colour with more white on her chest. She will be 4 weeks old tomorrow (Tues).
He is letting the puppies go at 6weeks (which I think is to soon) as long as their weaned but agreed to keep Stripe as he calls her a week longer if she's not weaned. All for now, Deirdre

Congratulations on your new puppy sure you will be very happy.
Are the pups going to be KC reg at all?
Karen
Thank You to all who replied.
The owner said I could register her myself if I wanted!!!!!!!!!! My Tessa was KC registered etc but when I took her to the Vets for her checkup I found out she had 2sets of eyelashs on her bottom eyes and her little belly button was protruding so her papers meant nothing really.
All I wanted was another shortlegged girl Staffie to love and care for and a playmate (hopefully) for Charlie, I obviously can't comment on how the Cats will take to her but I'm sure they'll soon put her in her place as anyone who owns both dogs and cats will know.
My Staffie Charlie has a healthy respect for all Cats and he's a big boy, he stands 18" to his shoulder and weighs over 4 and a half stone but if he's going downstairs and one of the Cats is coming up he backs up and lets the cat up first.
All for now, Deirdre, Charlie and the Cats

No, you won't be able to register her yourself. Only the breeder can do that ...

Sorry but I would be very suspicious of any breeder who told me that!
I hope your not paying the price for a KC reg staff.

she sounds lovely deirdre but if you want a kc reg staffy the breeder will have to register her !!bet shes gorgoeus though!!:)
Thanks again to everyone who has replied, I am paying £250 for my wee girl, I've left a £50 dep and pay the balance when I go to collect her. I would have to pay a lot more for a KC registered puppy but as I'm not going to be showing her etc I think the price is quite reasonable. The owner is not a breeder, he lives in a flat and this is the first time he's bred the mother.
I would have liked to have adopted a rescue Staffie but because of my 6 cats I couldn't take the chance. Deirdre

Sorry Deirdre, you are buying from a breeder who advertised the litter as a breed which doesn't exist, who didn't tell you the truth about registering the puppy, is letting them go too young & hasn't had them eye tested. What was his reason for breeding this litter? Certainly not to improve the breed! He IS a breeder ( he's just bred a litter hasn't he?) Have you seen the father? Are you sure he's a Staffy? Hope this puppy is everything you want, but many people would see this as just encouraging indiscrimate breeding. Just hope the other puppies are lucky enough to find owners like you & not people who buy on a whim.

Not wishing to put a damper on things, but I boarded a so called Miniature Staffie, and by 19 months it had severe liver problems and then at 22 months had a massive stroke and died. It was NOT correct in its conformation or its brain, I would be VERY careful if I were you Deidre.
Dawn.
