Hi hopefully someone can help. My friend has a border terrier bitch who she would like to breed who seems to be having a season ie swelling but no bleeding She previously had been on injections to prevent seasons but has been off this.

Any advice would be helpful

A friend of mine has both dogs and bitches in her home, none of her girls bleed or swell during seasons, it's only because the boys let her know they are in season that she actually knows.  She could be having a silent season, if you intend breeding her this time you may need to get her premate tested to find out exactly where she is in her season.

She could also be at the very start of coming in season, how long has she been swollen?  If only a day or two, then maybe over the next couple of days the season will start properly.
