Has anyone used any of the DIY outlets to have a new Bathroom or Kitchen fitted? Just wondering if they are any good.

The cheap (£250) bathroom suite advertised by B & Q has just been installed into my daughter's MIL's house - went in very well, all fittings were there - top of cistern was chipped, but an immediate replacement was ordered & delivered within 48 hrs! I think her SIL fitted it.

Same here, last christmas disaster struck, big crack in our bath.......so we had to quickly go out and get a complete bathroom suite, bought one in Wickes, £250 (as a temp. suite) but still got it, very impressed and OH fitted it in a day
When we bought our kitchen we priced it from a few different places and the best was B&Q for cabinets (18mm as opposed to other places 15mm) MFI for Granite sink rather than plastic or stainless steel, worktops also better quality from MFI.
B&Q and MFI both extortionate for fitting so we used an independant fitter which was a fraction of the price and done a brilliant job.
In the end we knocked about £2500 off the original quote.
Probably pays to shop around.
Kind regards,
Linda

Do you hire OH out Sharon?!!!!!
I've got an awful blue bath that would benefit from being changed. You can't beat white can you?

Lol......Jackyjat! He's been working so much recently, I think that was the last time I saw him! Oh actually I think we did pass on the landing the other morning, I was getting up, he was going to bed

Ooh, white is definitely the best bet. 'Fashionable' colours date very quickly, and actually
decrease the value of a property.

Yep, ours is white now too, before it was Pampus...........no offense to anybody that's got it, but it was the most disgusting colour ever, looked dirty all the time.
