I've just got an assortment of what looks like ribs, pelvic, and leg bones from my butcher and just want to check that Pork bones are fine for dogs.

Thanks

All pork destined for human consumption in the UK has been certified clear of parasites etc; there is no problem with feeding pork to dogs or bones; I have been doing so for several years.

What about lamb, is that safe to feed raw?
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 30.10.04 13:37 UTC
My two have lamb ribs most days :)

Anything raw is fine, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey, partridge, pheasant, duck, venison, rabbit etc etc etc

Thanks for that, just thought I'd better check! The girls had a lamb shank each last night for tea, took  about 45mins to eat them! They often have raw chicken wings and legs but last night was the first raw lamb, it seems to stir something in them-as soon as the raw meat comes out of the pack they are in their beds waiting! We don't feed a whole raw diet(they get ND, chicken and Chloe gets some shoulder of lamb when she needs fattening up a bit!plus the mackeral/sardines, raw veg and apple)but it's so satisfying to see them using their teeth the way nature intended and looking so happy(plus they have gleaming teeth now!)....and I'm a vegetarian!!! But it's what's best for them and I wouldn't deny them it now :)

Delta (5 months) takes AGES with a trotter but loves it :D Hudson doesn't take more than about 15 minutes though :D
