I'm looking to buy a new hairdryer and can't decide what one to go for.

You can now get Digital Ionic or Ceramic Ionic.  Which is best?

I have medium length, straight hair that has been coloured and I wash it and straighten it every day.

All advice greatfully received!  :)

Me too - as far as I know they just blow hot air - a bit like me really :D

Hi, I bought myself one of the ionic ones when they first came out (I have naturally curly hair which I straighten-thank god for GHD's!!) and I can quite honestly say that it was no different to an ordinary one!  I would suggest buying yourself a professional style one- i.e. one that is powerful and has a slimline nozzle-will be just as good if not better than any of the new faddy ones on the market at present! HTH :)

But there's so many to choose from!  I was hoping someone would be able to tell me that one was better for your hair, or one dried it quicker or something!

I have a big babyliss one it was quite expensive i think its black and silver but cant remember any model name (sorry) and that does a better job than my small revlon one - in fact the small one starts to smell of burning in the time it takes to dry my really thick hair

To be honest, they are all much of a muchness!!  The more powerful one is, the faster it's going to dry your hair.  There are so many similar ones on the market, as I said if you buy yourself a professional style one with a slimline nozzle (some are slimmer than others, and the slimmer the better for directing the air and drying hair straight) it is likely to be no different to any of the other ones on the market, but I definitely wouldn't go for any of the faddy ones, not worth it IMO!  Think I also have a Babyliss one, but if you have a look in the stores, you will find a wide variety of similar styles for similar prices-find one that you like the look of and take that one home-they're all going to do more or less the same job!! :)

I can't see past the Vidal Sassoon travel hairdryer.  It's really compact but very powerful and dries my thick wavy hair in minutes.  I've had 3 of these, when one burns out (takes years) I buy another.  I've tried others but they're not as good. I also use the Remington ceramic straighteners which are brilliant. From wavy to straight in 2 minutes flat.
