how can i train a good recall or at least have my dog pay attention to me on walks?
I have a 6 month old staffie and shes great with recall in the house and garden, and brilliant with heel work, but the minute we go out on a walk, she jus acts like i dont exist.  I have tried really tasty treats, but she just spits them out, and toys r of no interest to her.
Ive tried her on a lunge rope, but she jus took a run up and tried to bolt and wouldnt even listen to me. I really struggle to get her attention on a walk, ive tried changin the route.  Ive tried changing directions until i was blue in the face and i sort of had her attention, by attention i mean she was jumpin up at me and grabbing my sleeves!
so i carried on walking, stopping and calling her everytime she pulled. I changed my speed and direction several times.  Some parts were a new walk and some parts were her usual walk, but it made no difference.  Shes not too bad a puller and i use a halti lead on her, which jus clips round my waist and then clips on her collar.

Last time i tried to let her off lead, she bolted, so i havent let her off since, but have used flexi leads and such.

any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the world of training dogs.  You say she does not like toys - not even a tug toy?  SBT's are not my breed but the one that came to our (competitive) obedience class always had a tug on a rope as her reward.

If she jumps and grabs at your sleeves try using a rope to get her excited and her attention on you and use this as the start of attention work.  She needs to have respect for you before she will be under your control when out (I know how you feel as I have a very strong minded Dober-pup who is very hard work where training is concerned but I am gradually getting though to her and when she does get her mind on me her heelwork is brilliant.)

I assume you go to classes - would your instructor do some work with you with others in the class moving around or even out and about for a private lesson?
