I wonder if any of you can help. Just noticed an advert in my local paper about a missing 18 week old Rottweiler, from a street just up the road. Anyway, three kids have been walking a puppy rottweiler up and down my street in the past couple of days, and were in the corner shop yesterday asking if they sell dog food and buying random dog treats - could seem to link in but I have no idea how big an 18 week old Rottweiler is and wouldn't like to call the people with misinformation. Can anyone email me a picture of an 18 week old Rottweiler or give me a link to a website where I can see one please?
Much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

sorry dont own a rottie. but could you perhaps phone the owners and tell them whereabouts these kids are walking the dog so they could check it out for themselves? they will be able to recognise their own pup?
Yeah good point, I decided that - rather than feel embarrased that I have judged the age wrong, better to get it wrong than feel guilty that I didn't tell them. They left two mobile numbers in their advert so I have texted them two emails with description and the area (so that I way I don't have to feel embarrased as its quite anonymous!). Someone has kindly emailed me a picture of a 12 week old rottie and it looks older than that, but much younger than the photos of year old rotties I have found on the net so there is a chance - its just the fact that these 3 kids have appeared from nowhere, walking a rottweiler that I've never seen in the immediate area before, and that they were asking if the shop sold dog food, and buying random treats (but couldn't afford the 42p treats) and taking them out to the dog who was dropping them on to the floor. It could be completely innocent but it all looks rather odd to me, the fact they have appeared out of the blue with a puppy rottweiler, and suddenly seem to have full-time care for this dog, even though they are all aged under ten, yet they don't know where to buy dog food or what the dog likes or have the money to pay for it. Hmmmm. I shall continue my investigations!

if i were u i would phone the owners and see wot they think. do u remember what any of the markings looked like so u could describe the pup to them. Even if u are wrong, they will be greatful that u tried. If it were ur pup gone missing, im sure u would like to kno if someone even had a hunch that somone had ur dog.
Keep us updated on this, would be nice to know how it turns out.
but ur right, it does seem odd that these kids have a rottie and r buying food and treats etc. Mainly cos of their age i would think, a rottie would be far too strong for them to control! assuming that no responsible owner would allow a 10 yr old to walk a dog alone? altho sayin that the neighbours hav a rottie who i have seen youngsters walkin, altho they rnt responsible owners :|
good luck tho, i hope it works out
Thanks, I texted her and she rang back and we had a chat - by the sound of it, the dog I've seen could be too big, but then I didn't get a good look either time, and I'm judging the height by the height it is next to the children and I'm rubbish with measurements. But I've told her the street I live in, and directed her to the shop so she could ask the shopkeeper - he's more likely to have taken notice, particularly if it wasn't the first time they've been in - or he may know the parents and know that it isn't the missing dog so she's going to have a drive round this way in the morning.
I'll keep you posted!

thats good. i hope she finds her dog :(
She rang me yesterday, her husband and daughter had driven around my local vicinity for a look and had seen the dog that i'd seen, and apparently he was similar, also with a blue colllar, but the young boy walking him told her that his dog had also been missing for two days and 3 kids (who fitted the description I gave) had had him but now he'd got him back. Makes it all seem even odder to me, but apparently they were happy that that dog wasn't Alfie so their quest continues. I contacted Dogslost for them as they don't have a computer and she said they'd been in touch and we saw posters up in our local shop last night, so hopefully they'll get some information on him soon.
