Hi all.
       My best friend has just got a adorable black english cocker spaniel puppy who is 4 months old and my friend works 8am till 12am then she comes home for 30 mins or so then she goes back to work again for another 4 hours to return home at 4pm. The dogs gets left at home while she's at work and he seems happy.
        I've always thought that you couldnt leave a pup for that amount of time?

Dogs don't always read the books.  Cocker Spaniels are known for being a breed that normally protest about being left alone for a long period of time - but he's probably either a) used to it from his previous home, or (more probably :( ) b) a bit shell shocked from the changes and will start to protest as he becomes more bonded to her.
