Can anyone tell me the average cost for a mis-mate injection? Someone we know of had her 10 month old dog "accidentally" mate with her older bitch. She claimed that she wasn't going to have the injection done as the vets had quoted her £100 and that her bitch may not even have taken. All of this is rubbish, she's just done it for the money (as they go for about £850 per pup and the current average litter size is approx 8 - 10) but I was wondering if this was the actual cost of the injection. Coincidently, her dog is grossly oversize for the breed standard and due to his age has obviously had no health checks done :( Will the KC register a litter from a 10 month old dog that has had absolutely no health checks done? I sincerely hope not!

i had to have it done to 1 of mine a few years ago and that was £6 per jab and she had to have 2.
i did phone a diffrent vets first (closer to me) and they said my bitch needed 3 jabs and it would be £30 each.  so look around you can find it cheeper.

as for this mating if its the dog that is 10 months old then yes they will KC reg them but if its the bitch then they wont.

I've been quoted £60 - £70, more expensive the bigger the dog.
Accidents do happen.

£60 ish pounds, depending on the injection. I think if you get the one that is administered within hours of the mating it is not too expensive. I believe our Vet quoted £60.00 to my friend, she has golden retrievers, and that jab can be administered up to about 38-42 days. I suppose it might go on the size of the dog.
