I would also add, that you should spend some time researching the Siberian Husky and the Alaskan Malamute as they are two different breeds and make up your mind which you are wanting :)

Why before Xmas. To be honest I dont fancy your chances this time of year most breeders would avoid pups as Xmas pressies like the plague

Would also add, that most reputable breeders are in "rally" mode and avoid having pups around this time of the year.  Why not attend one to learn a bit more about the breed as there will be both breeds present.  See www.snopeak.co.uk

I for one, am packing my bags to head off up the Motorway for Kings Forest this evening.

also have u made sure ur garden is equipt for one as i have huskys and my youngest is 12 weeks and seems to have springs on his feet and i might have to extend the 6ft fence i already have as i know a few breeders that have huskys that can scale them with no effort at all.  Then they will just run as that is what they will do and if u live in a built up area u could lose one to traffic. also they dig like crazy so it wud be wise to make sure it is deep enough i have used concrete gravel boards.
so make sure u are not garden proud as any pretty flowers will probably be gone beore u know it!

also what sort of hours do u work huskys do not like their own company they get bored v.quickly and dont like seperation so if there is not someone there alot of the time then this breed is not for you.
Have u though about gettin a crate as if left to there own devices whilst u are out they WILL destroy anything they want from ur nice sofa to beds to videos u name it they will get it.  Check out th siberian husky club of great britian website under damages. But remember it might be the wires leads plugs etc and that cud again be another sad time.

like the previous post said u need to def research both breeds to see which one suits u.  Also u can never let them off the lead when u walk them some people do in enclosed areas but i no some breeders huskies that have gone over a 7ft wall to get to live stock.  This was one of the hardest things for me as i always had staffs till i moved to huskies and the staffs i had wudnt even need a lead for a two hour walked and stay close by. but that wont happen forever with the husky.  Even now with mine i get tempted to see but it will be that one time that again they end up shot or run over. so it just isnt worth the risk

so please make sure u are def ready for one of these amazin breeds before just jumpin in as they need alot of attention and work. so many ads are always in paperson the net extra for 11months old husky 2 yr old husky etc and its where they havent done enough research and couldnt cope.

if u want any more info on this breed just put in siberian husky or alaskan malumat in a search engine there is a good one called "so you want a siberian husky" and shows all the ups and downs or email me at foggy996_cs@yahoo.com

Can I just say to ajolie, well done on doing every thing right with your sibes, you sound like a great sibe owner and your dogs are lucky! I wish every one would listen to the breed clubs/experienced owners advice, maybe there wouldn't be so many ending up in welfare then.
