Hi all
I'm quite new here and I'm really enjoying the forum and getting a lot of sound advice. I happened to notice that quite a few threads become locked, and I just wondered why? I looked in FAQ but couldn't see any specific rules regarding this.
Just want to make sure that I don't break any forum rules!

If you read some of the locked threads you will probably be able to guess why Admin. locked them :-)
Sometimes debate/discussion turns into an arguement & gets rather over-heated; or the discussion goes around in a repetetive circle & goes nowhere; or it contravenes the Terms of Service; etc. etc.
I could see the reasoning behind some (most) of the locking but there were a few that didn't seem to be offensive or getting out of hand.
I shall go and read the terms of service more carefully.

Also some of the threads get huge & admin will lock them for a while, so they can check their content or branch them.

Another reason could be that there was an offensive post. Admin might decide that the thread is useful so remove the offensive post but leave the thread, locking it so the argument is stopped.

Another reason, especially in the missing dogs section is that it is meant for notification only and not for discussion as this keeps bring dogs to the top rather than being able to view them in roughly the order in which they were lost
some posts will be locked if they are duplicated on another board...duplicate posts are not permitted.
