Question for you all. One of my boxers (8 months old) has one unpigmentated eye and although the breed standered does not mention that this is a fault I know when showing I will be marked down as it slightly detracts from her expression.
Do you know what causes unpigmented eyes as both parents were doulblly pigmented?
And also my neighbour suggested giving seaweed tablets as this could add pigmentation (said it did for her girl) - sounds a bit sus to me, what do you all think - is it worth giving it a go?
Thanks, Aimi.

Can't help you with the Boxer bit but seaweed tablets (or powder) have long been used as a supplement to improve pigment. Whether it actually works or not I wouldn't like to say.
Hi has your boxer got a slack eye or a tight eye in the one that is unpigmented.my friend has a bitch who has one eye unpigmented with a slack eye and she was shown and did very well in the ring, not sure about the seaweed,
Hi Polly,
Not quite sure what you mean by slack eye - her bottom eyelids droop more than her mum's if thats what you mean. If it is thats encouraging for us, thanks.
Aimi.
yes that is what i mean slack like it droops a little
Have a look here: http://www.worldwideboxer.com/PAGE6.html. Scroll down to "unpigmented third eyelid". Is this what you mean? If so, it is a cosmetic fault only & should not weigh too heavily against a dog that is otherwise very good.
Edited to add: Doubt if the seaweed will help. My bitch has a similar eye & she has had Kelp daily for 4+ years and it has made no difference to the appearance of her eye.
Thanks for the link - that's exactly what she has. Now it wont put me off showing her.
Hurray, thanks.
Aimi.
