please can anybody tell me why my 15 month old westie has a brown line from neck to tail, she doesn't have fleas and is groomed regularly. thanks.

A brown or yellowish line down the back of a Westie is not uncommon. It's not a physical problem.

Apparantly, from what I've been told. It stems back to days when the Cairn Terrier was involved in the   breeding.

My Male westie who is now 2yrs 7mths has this. I was told its called 'orange stripe' and is common in westies. The lady (from the forum) suggested an evening primrose capsule daily.  I did this for quite a while but did'nt notice alot of difference. The stripe is not so noticable now but i don't know what has made it fade ? age.
