Hello all,
I know you are a pretty knowledgable bunch on here :) I wonder if anyone could help me?My American friend and I are setting up a Boxer  information website and forum. We are including information about white Boxers, health issues etc and also the AKC and ABC guidelines  regarding their registration .That information we have but I'm having trouble finding anything about the guidelines here in the UK.I am trying to find anything to do with how they are registered by the kennel club, the uk boxer club rules regarding their sale etc or any breeders views on the subject. If anyone knows of any good  sites that cover these issues  here(or in any country)I would be most grateful. We are trying to get as much information on there as will fit :)

Despite popular belief
You can register white Boxers with the UK kennel club.
It varies from breed club to breed club about code of ethics regarding the 'white' issue.
So it would pay to contact either the Breed Council or the breed clubs for their own stance
on the white Boxer. Years ago the majority of breeders would cull (put to sleep) their white
puppies, nowadays it is considered by most breeders highly unethical to cull whites.

Most ethical breeders if registering their white pups will endorse the pedigree 'progeny not eligible for registration'.
Here in the UK typically the whites are sold for 50% less than their coloured siblings.
In the UK we do not have the spay/neuter contracts that are the 'norm' in the US.
It is considered highly unethical to breed from white Boxers especially to other white's.
In the UK there is a breed rescue that just deals in rehoming white Boxers and other breed rescues do have whites go through their books. If whites were registered (endorsed) and came with full pedigree perhaps many would not treat them as 2nd class?
Who knows however there are many lovers of the white Boxer in the UK and they won't have anything but a white Boxer.
White Boxers are not shown in the UK at open or ch show level (more than 1/3 white is considered a fault) however they can compete at companion shows in the novelty classes & at agility and obedience competitions.

With regard to health issues, a good article regarding deafness can be found on www.steynmere.com
under genetics section. With regard to other health issues I'm not sure if there are any conclusive studies done regarding the health of the white Boxers, however in my litter of 7 pups, 4 were white, all I raised, I lost 1 (put to sleep) at 3 days old (fading puppy syndrome) and another at 2 yo died of a ruptured spleen (post mortem diagnosis). The other two remaining are in good health and the litter is now just over 3 years old. Of the 3 Whites none were deaf, although I do know of a lady that has had 3 litters with whites and she's  had deaf whites in each of her litters.
My white pups were registered with the UK kennel club & endorsed with contract signed to say that new owners were aware of endorsement and that I would not lift the endorsement.

I think most breeders of boxers would now register them or at the very least raise them the same as any other colour, however there are very few if any owners of white boxers in the UK that breed from their dogsto another white boxer(unlike "white" GSD owners were there are many breeders who breed "white" to "white")

I knew one of the top Boxers breeders from the middle part of the last century & she originally used to cull any whites born in the 40's & 50's, then in 60's stopped culling but did not register them & towards the end of her life used to register them & put restrictions on them(she died in the 70's)

With pets colour is simply a personal choice, but for the show ring the breed standard is the template of the ideal dog that breeders should thrive towards breeding
