Day 32 here and scan has confirmed at least 3 pups, so I am very happy

My vet has recommended worming with panacur from day 40 until 2 days after pups are born which I am happy to do, but as my bitch is fussy she has said to use the paste instead of the granuels at 2 graduations a day - does that sound right to you ?

I worm my bitch just before mating, then not until after she has whelped. Mum gets wormed after whelping,  Pups get wormed at 4, 6 & 8 weeks old............not had any problems doing it that way, plus it would cost you a small fortune to worm from day 40 onwards!

Personally I would choose not to worm a pregnant bitch with any product. :)

I have wormed four generations of bitches in whelp with out any problems.  The only problem I had was with my third litter of pups when done at two and five weeks, so now do them at 3 and 7 which was the protocol given to me by my vet with first two litters.  No problems since returning to this timescale.

I was also advised to do this by my vet with our last bitch, but decided not to , i do the same as sharon m, but also worm mum at the same time as the pups would be wormed, and have had no problems doing it this way.

i wormed the dam  at 6 weeks pregnant last time, and the pups seemed like little fat balls, a lot commented on how podgey they looked so soon,  its the 1st time ive ever wormed an in whelp bitch, but i could only see good results and no upset at all,

Hi i wormed my bitch 2weeks before whelping then 2weeks after she whelped and did the pups at the same time and then every 2weeks after that until they were 12 weeks old. I done this with panacur which i got from my vet with no ill effects to the dam or her litter.

Each person has there own views on worming bitches.
