Has anyone bought any of the Kennel Club coats?

I have my eye on the thermal one, it's long (I am 5ft 10 tall so like them longish) and waterproof with decent simple front pockets so great for dog walking.. and not a bad price. But it doesn't look very thick - I'm wondering how warm it is.

I would appreciate any help as i may splash out and don't want to buy one that's not too warm! :D

I couldn't find them.  I don't know how much they are but I imagine you could get one cheaper somewhere else.

The KC sent me a leaflet about them :D They seem a reasonable price  I feel at about £32 ish, are supposed to be waterproof, with a hood that can be hidden; 3/4 length and thermal. It's just that in the photo they seem a bit thin, not much padding although i know they can do wonders these days with materials...

I was just sent a small, sort of 5 page A4 size leaflet in colour, think it's a new range maybe? They've never sent me anything before so must  have known i was after a coat LOL

Think that you may get a waterproof Regatta for a lot less that that Lindsay!

Trouble is don't the Regattas have sloping pockets? :) I like the very simple square type pockets as the opening is bigger for stuffing toys etc in. I have a Berghaus but can't shove too much in there due to the pockets being adequate but not big...  thanks though for the thought, I  will have a look at Regatta again though  in case; i am after a sort of 3/4 ish length if i can get it as being tall i find the other length can sometimes not give that much protection in the great outdoors! :)

I've got waxed in short, medium & long - all have big square patch pockets as well as hand warmers!  Any good????  Just a thought!

Try a body warmer under it, I find they give the body warmth required without you feeling all stuffed out as with a full fleece.  I have a fleecy one for cold days and a duck down for really cold days.

Val where did you get your waxes from?  I had one when I was really young and it was so warm and dry, then went into stage of "I'm not wearing anythign thats not fashionable even if I freeze" now I'm going back to as long as I'm warm I don't care, would love a wax coat again :D

I had a great bomber wax jacket bought at the Lincs show wghen I was 16. Loved it but it stunk.
Would love a wax, but hate the smell. Was it because it was cheap (£20 11 years ago) or something else???
And if anyone knows where to get another from :D (my ex husband decided he loved it so wore it all the time :( so it is long gone :( )

I've got a Barbour which has the wax aroma :-D  I think they do just have that smell.  I bought mine through my husband's work as they can get barbour stuff half price.  If anyone lives in the north east, there is a barbour factory in south shields where you can pick up a great bargain.

Hi.  I buy them from agricultural shows rather than from shops, because they tend to be functional and practical rather than 'pretty' like some in the shops!!

Gwen lives close to the Barbour factory shop, and when I was at her place a couple of weeks ago I decided to look in at the Barbour shop. I need a new wax coat too, but regular Barbour prices are a bit steep I think. Anyway, I got lost in Jarrow/South Sheilds so I never made it. Still wearing the stinky old one that I got at an Agricultural Show for £15.

I'm such a cheap skate.
