Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / german shepherd weeing in hse

My friend has a german shepherd bitch who finished her first season about two weeks ago.  Whilst in season and ever since she has taken to weeing in the kitchen even if the door is open for her to go out.  She will even come in from being in the garden and wee in the house.  She doesn't poo in the house.  My friends house is starting to smell even though she does clean up straight away.
Any advice appreciated, I can't come up with anything apart from going back to basics.

Has she been checked by the vet for a possible urinary tract infection?

IF the house is smelling, then I guess she isn't cleaning up effectively - the best way to do this is by using a hot solution of bio washing powder, and follow it up with a spray of white spirit (this breaks up the fatty acids that hold the urine smell and encourage the dog to remark in the same place)

I agree she may have an infection, and suggest a visit to the vet to rule this out.
