Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Question about roundworms and worming
- By Guest [gb] Date 16.10.04 20:35 UTC
hi, i hope someone can help me. I worm all my dogs using drontal plus, and I usually do it about once every 3-4 months like the vet says. My question is, is it normal for adult dogs to get roundworms? I thought that once they had reached about 6 months, they didnt really get them anymore unless they are a pregant or nursing bitch?
I have a pitbull stud dog who seems to pass roundworms every so often despite being wormed and hes in really good condition dead muscly etc so how come he gets them? my other stud dog doesnt pass them at all? its weird?
Im going to worm him this week cos hes going to be doing some stud work and I want him in good shape, any ideas why he gets them? he is fed the same food as all my other dogs and doesnt get raw meat apart from bones from the butcher. Is it possible he has some kind of tolerance to the worming product?
Your help greatly apperciated
