We're looking for a Tibetan Terrier (or TT cross puppy) as we've fallen in love with my mum's Tibetan and she won't let us have her! We're not in a great rush and ideally would like a black/ predominantly black bitch but we're open to suggestions. We don't want a show dog - just a loving family pet (we're both vets so it will have a good home). Your both vets?? Then surely you should know the consequences of buying a cross breed puppy from a breeder! If you want a cross breed then please go to a rescue as there are so many looking for loving homes rather than buying one from an inexperienced breeder who will claim they have ''magical powers'' so will charge you more when the fact is those ''magical powers'' are all the diseases it has picked up from the puppy farm!
From your post it seems that you want this puppy purely because you liked your mothers dog. Have you looked in to the breed? visited shows? talked to breeders? If not then you definitely should before getting a puppy. What if your puppy is nightmare pup and nothing like your mothers? You need to take time with puppies and will you have the time, seeing as you are both vets, to spend with this puppy training it?
Please think it through properly and research in to this breed. If I have read your post completely wrong then I do apologise and get a pure breed Kennel club registered Tibetan terrier as you know for sure that these will have good backgrounds.
