Had my bitch scanned today a bit early day 25, vet couldn't feel anything and the scan showed circles of water which looked promising but she said water can gather in the bitches uterus for other things too re scan day 32
Is it normal for her to be off her food at this stage ?

I'd say yes it is normal. Both my girls are in whelp, my first girl went off her food around 2 wks right up until 5 wks, and my other girl is only just 4 weeks today and still off her feed. But at about 5 weeks my girl picked up and ate for england. Other thing is she may be more loving and affectionate, i noticed with my bitch she just wants cuddles constantly and has taken to sleeping on the bed next to her mummy which before she refused to do. My bitch was scanned at 25 days and we say 2 or 3 but the scanner said there will probably be more that she couldn't see at this stage in pregnancy, where as my girl that was scanned at 5 weeks, she counted 8 quite easily. I used PET SCAN who travel to your home and she was brilliant!

Well signs we have are vulva still enlarged, mammory glands swollen, very very loving, off her food - but I know all these can be signs of a phantom too - ohh the waiting is awful !

sounds good to me :-) I had a phantom once with my bitch, she got thicker around the ribs, and produced milk, and she hadn't even been mated lol. Did notice though, she's currently confirmed in whelp and her nipples started to get noticeably larger around 24 days, first they were just erect, then slowly they became wider and larger and more pink in colour. They are now starting to point and she's 5wks, no weight gain thats noticable though lol, which i found quite strange as she's a lean, active bitch! When she was being scanned i didn't expect for one minute to hear the lady say "oh yes, definately in whelp" and with 8 puppies, lord only knows where she's hiding them lol. But i'm happy, my scanner lady told me they were a good size.

So if your girl is 25 days, she'll be due 3 days after my bitch thats just 4 wks :-) How exciting lol. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, i know how nervous it can make you waiting on the "is she, isn't she" lol

Think they're based in Milton Keynes (sp) But they will travel to your home if you pay the 25p per mile. But i must stress, although for two bitches, travel and VAT it cost £100, she was brilliant! She scanned the dogs, gave me loads of info, pin pointed the exact day of pregnancy to a tee without being told how far they were, how many matings we did etc. She also then located my puppy dogs other testicle as so far only 1 is down, she's great, lovely lady. I'll PM you with the number :-)

surely your vet could do it???

I've been advised to use a professional scanner as they are more reliable and cheaper than the vets!
