my breeder did not have an affix as he wasn't going to breed many litters,i have found out the costs and rules as such on getting an affix,i am going to be showing my dog and would like him to have his own affix, can i register and pay for my own affix  even if i don't intend to breed ?

Hi Guest, the short answer to your question is, yes. As you are no doubt aware though, it costs £70 the first year then £17 by direct debit annually thereafter, plus £8 to add the affix to your dogs name. I assume the dog is already registered with the Kennel Club depite the lack of an affix.

Yes, you can but if it only appears on one dog then no one will know it is an affix but assume it is part of his name.

Affixes are a way of following dogs bred from a certain kennel and in my opinion should be compulsory - and cheaper!
