Are there any shows in the east anglia area coming up,my pup will be ready to show in december and i'd like to go and spectate beforehand get him used to the whole atmosphere of it all,and are there shows that do not allow dogs that aren't competing in,that i can go to alone pick up the jist of things?thank you.

The KC have recently agreed that pups from 4 months can go along to certain shows as NFC (not for competition). I believe it is up to the individual societies though. I suggest you get the doggy papers - Dog World and Our Dogs and look for shows in your area, ring up the secretary and ask if they will accept your pup.

I know a relative has just been doing exactly that and has not been refused yet :)

Its only breed and sub group and group shows that allow puppies from 4 mths NFC.  By all means get the dog papers to see which shows are coming up and also I think its prodogs.co.uk (????) lists all the shows....someone HELP!!!! :)

Guest ...As long as your dog has been well socialised and has been to training classes there should be no need to take him along to 'get used to it'. 2 out of 3 of my boys have attended their first shows(which have been champ shows) at 6 months and a couple of days old and have taken it in their stride

West Torrington and District on the 27th November
Boston and District on the 12th December

Dogs under 6 months are not allowed within the show precincts ( but most people tend to bring along their youngsters if they can pass for 6 months ;-)
