Hi Folks,
I must be lucky as after 20 years of owning Rottweiler's I've never come across a phantom! However my current bitch is determined to be awkward and is now in her second. She came into season bang on six months, went into a phantom afterwards, came back into season around 3 months later and has now gone back into another phantom (she's only just gone a year old) - arrghh!
I'm after any tips to tighten her up as her undercarriage never really tightened well from the last one. She's been on Galastop from the vet's but any tips on how to tighten her up would be appreciated.
It's ruining our show career!
Many thanks.
Ali.
I'd been told in the past, decrease the amount of fluid and exercise more, how true this is i've no idea :-)

I had a bitch like that and nothing worked. I splashed cold water on her undercarriage for ages to try and tighten things, but nothing worked.
Just one thought, though. If her seasons were only 3 months apart she had probably only just finished her first falsie when she started her second. Maybe if she goes longer between seasons this time, the teats will have a longer inactive period and will probably go up a little more than last time. Sorry - not much help.

Thanks for the replies folks. I think you are right PJW, hopefully we might manage a longer gap between seasons this time!
I've had her on 2/3rds her normal food ration but this doesn't seem to have helped much. Someone recommended Epsom Salts - has anyone tried it?

Ali
it is a pain when they get phantoms
I would be a little worried about so many though and think perhaps you should keep an eye on her ,pyometra usually follows phantoms in my experience of them
so be on the look out for any signs that may indicate she has a womb infection Mari
