My five year old shar pei bitch is suddenly beginning to lose weight although she is eating reasonably well.  I am aware of many of the problems the breed can be subject to such as FSF, hyper thyroidism and amyloidosis.  Although it is fair to say she is not displaying any sign of fever right now, she shivers considerably at times, is lethargic and at times also has mild vomiting. She drinks copious amounts of water. If these are the symptoms of amyloidosis, can anyone recommend a vet who is clued up on the breed as I would like to be assured that she will be receiving appropriate treatment from a knowledgeable vet.  I live in the West Midlands area so would prefer a cliinic in the region but would travel if necessary.  Can anyone offer any advice?

Many Thanks,
