I am currently using a gentle leader on my dog but I'm constantly pulling it down as its riding up to his eyes, I've been flicking through various sites for an alternative and found this one, Gencon All in one headcollar which claims not to ride up into their eyes.
Has anyone used one of these?

I haven't used that but I do use a dogmatic which doesn't ride up. They take a lot of care over getting the right size for your dog :)

I use the gencons - and find that they are good - provided you make sure that you haven't any inks in them. If not put on properly, Loi can manage to get the "nose bit off, then it hangs down and the whole thing just cts like a slip lead.
The feact that I don't have to have different collars for different dogs, tring to put them on though the Aussies "ruffs" makes them ideal for us though.

I use a Kumfi Dogalter and don't find any problem with it riding up - very simple to put on, but it is important to adjust it properly the first time of use :)

i did a search on dogmatic, can you only order through the post. I'd rather go to a shop to make sure it fits rather than having to send it back for a different size.
I definately don't like the sound of the all in one collar slipping off, won't be getting that one.
I love this site because honest people will tell you the pros and cons of products rather than you spending a fortune on various collars etc. till you find a suitable one.

You can only (as far as I know) order through the website or ring them up.They are VERY helpful. It took 3 different sizes as Hudson was the first Malamute they had fitted but I still ended up with the one I needed within a week ;)
The staff there are fantastic and very helpful :)

There are various headcollars, gentle leaders, gentle controllers, pullstoppas, haltis, dogmatics, dogalter, canny collar etc; some suit some dogs better than others.

But which ones have you used tohme? Giving a personal account of one is far better surely than just listing the various types

I have used them all except the canny collar, hence why I posted; some are better in some situations too. For example I personally do not like the Dogmatic as, it buckles instead of snaps so takes longer to put on/take off and, because of the buckle position, is a pain if you have a dog with long, hairy ears........ :D
The gentle controller slip lead is very useful for agility purposes etc as you can literally slip on and off with no collar.
Also some models fit some dogs (even of the same breed) better than others depending on the shape of their head and length to height ratio etc.
Hance my post. Bit like buying a bra really or shoes, it really IS individual............. :)

We have tried various with our dogs, gentle leader, halti. but they all seem to twist and go in the dogs eyes, and they did not stop mine from pulling. I am now using the dogmatic and although its a lot better for not going in their eyes it does not stop them pulling.

No headcollar is designed to STOP pulling; they do however make it easier to control a very strong dog..........
The gentle leader is helping a lot with charlie pulling but it rides up his eyes. I've used the gentle leader on my other dog and never had no problems with it riding up.
Keep them coming, it's good to hear different opinions.
Have decided to go for the dogmatic, ordered one today, thanks for your help everyone.
I use two gencons for my border collies and think they're great! didnt like the halti or gentle leader but this type is perfect.
