Topic Dog Boards / General / Dog crate with up + over door?
- By Dexy [gb] Date 09.10.04 16:09 UTC
I'm looking for a dog crate with a door that would fold up and over the roof instead of opening out over. I'm sure I saw a post on here last year of somebody getting one - but I've searched and can't find that post. I'd appreciate if anyone knows where I can get one of these crates to reply back to me. I'm looking for a large crate 42" x 27" x 30".

I know there a company that make them I've seen thm & for the life of me I cannot remember their name

However this company will make a cage to individual needs

If I remember who makes them as a standard I'll post again

Hi Lee, I know somebody in Widdrington who might be able to modify a crate for you if you don't find what you want. Send me a PM if you'd like the phone number. This guy makes made to measure car crates, and he made my trolley table. He is usually quite busy, but you could give him a try.

I tell you what, I'll PM you his number anyway, then you can decide.

I've got a crate like that.  It came from my local pet shop several years ago.  Now I know this isn't much help but at least you know they are made.  I'll try and search for a name on it tomorrow when it's light.

Hi Dawn
Thanks for that - Gwens going to check the prices out for me at Batleys.
We have our new "baby" - Dolcie a red and white bitch! So for when the time comes I want a crate big enough for them both. We got her from John (goes to training class Red and White bitch) - we'll be going to the class soon as she's allowed out soon.

I've got one of those that was given to me years ago.  The only problem is that they can escape from it, unless I put a clip on it.  Not sure if the newer ones do have something more secure or not.

I have seen them in a local pet shop but never really paid much attention to them.

Hi, do you know anyone with a Batleys pet warehouse card?  They stock this sort as standard, are heavy duty and very cheap.  Otherwise, whereabouts are you?  If in the N East I coudl pick one up for you.

bye

Hi Gwen, Lee lives beside me. She did live two doors away, she's moved now, but not very far.

Thanks Dawn,  in which case, Dexy, I can check the prices out at Batleys this week if you would like?  Jsut as a comparison, the small size (approx 21 x 21 x 18) are about £16, and I got a giant one for someone in the summer which was about £48.

bye
