Does anyone have any experience of buying a static caravan from this company on one of their holiday parks or has anyone had a holiday on one of their parks?  I think they are part of the Haven Group.  Was it a good or bad experience?

I'm thinking of buying a caravan at Berwick upon Tweed but as it's a bit of a major outlay I'm doing a bit of research first.  I'd quite like to get some honest information from "punters" as opposed to their own representatives.

Any comments appreciated.

We own a static caravan on the Bourne leisure site at Donniford Watchet. We have had the caravan a year now and have been very pleased with it, we often use the caravan for weekends away and have always had a relaxing time but we have avoided going in August as it gets very busy.
The site we are on is very dog friendly with alot of dog bins and no limit on the number of dogs owners of caravans can have in their van as long as they are not a nuisance and are kept on lead on the site and cleared up behind (just generally responsible dog ownership really). As we have 5 dogs it was important to us that the site was dog friendly.
We had had touring caravans for nearly 20 years and always stayed on CLs which have a max of 5 caravans and are pretty quiet so we have had to get used to a busier site but saying that we have really enjoyed our stays there this year and are looking foward to our next visit  in a short time
I don't know the Berwick upon Tweed site but if they are like the Donniford site the staff have always been very helpful and pleasant (even after you have paid your money :) )
Hope this is helpful to you

Thanks for that - it's a big help.  I've been to Berwick and looked at the site, which I like and looked at the caravans etc.  There's lots of things for the nephews to do, it's right on the beach and it's dog friendly.

The staff I have met so far have been great, but then of course they are trying to sell me a van.

I'm glad you're enjoying your caravan, I'm going for another look later on.  I just want to make sure I'm asking the right questions!

I've been to Berwick and also to Haggerston Castle (7 miles from Berwick) Much prefer the site at Haggerston and it's near some nice beaches but for some people it may be too far away from transport. Berwick on the other hand is very central to everything and does have the added bonus of being on the beach. Best thing to do is go for the weekend and meet some of the owners on site who I'm sure would tell you everything you need to know about caravan ownership.
We used to have our caravan at Seton Sands, another bourne leisure site and spent many happy holidays there.
Good Luck,

Linda :-)

Thanks, I think I will go and visit Haggerston as well although my cousin had a holiday there and didn't like it much.  But then she is very different from me!  Hopefully I'll make the right decision.

I like Berwick because I like the town, its near everywhere and its only an hour door to door so its easy for me to get to.  Also on the main train line.  Seton Sands is lovely but it wouldn't really be a holiday for me.  My mum lives virtually next door to the park so I'm there at least once a week :D
