First, the comment that there are "no whites in the lines on either side" is nonsense.  Whites may have been in the lines on either side and neither breeder aware. They may have been culled at birth and/or not mentioned to anyone if they were close in to the dam and sire - and farther back it is simply impossible to know if there have or have not been whites.

Second, no responsible breeder would breed what she calls a "genetic mutation."   Experimenting to see if she could breed more of the same is evidence to me that she is looking to profit out of whatever caused the colour fault.  It is not unusual for a correctly coloured (to the AKC standard that is) GSD to have a little white spot on their chest and sometimes on their paws.   No one considers it a "genetic mutation".  The fact that a puppy had big blotches of white is unfortunate, but not a true mutation.

So in my view, this is a breeder who is looking to profit out of still another dog which is way off the standard for the breed.  Personally, if I wanted a dog that looked like them I would get a border collie instead.

Hi Michelled,
Had a look.  Very interesting, but not for me.  I think that the German Shepherd is one of the finest looking dogs around.  Therefore I don't think that these dogs are doing the breed any favours at all.

Some breeders have a lot to answer for.

Stunning ????? I know of several mongrels thay have the similar markings & looks  & do not come with the 2500$ + price tag either !

Just think "white"& Blue GSDs are on sale for £750 + how much would this "new"breed cost £3000 + I reckon with loads of puppy farmers just waiting to jump in to cash in on this new rare breed-purpose bred Blue GSDs are around £800 from a nearby puppy dealer(parents not health checked), yet a local breeder who got blues in her normal colour & coated litter sold them for the same price as the others in the litter at £450 parents hip & eye scored & male haemo tested & both parents Ch Sh winners(father a Champion) previous puppies from sim breeding working in obedience & WTs with some success

Now just think of the money to be made by breeding these"Panda"GSDs Then of course they would have to have a long coated version for say £3500 & if the bitches don't breed ture don't worry add a little white/black BC's to the breeding & the longcoats would appear as well & no one would know if you had a male & female in the kennels

Typical american they have done all the teacup & oodle breedings so now "panda"GSDs are all the rage
