Hi all
Not sure if this is the right place to put this post.
Could someone advice me please? I came home this afternoon and Buffy my 10 month old lab was jumping up at the door as normal, when i got in i noticed small drips of brown fluid on the floor where she had been jumping. I checked her with a bit of white tissue and the brown fluid had come from her and not our other dog. So i guessed that she had probably started her first season. I then done a search on here and spoke to a friend of mine and all says that her vulva should have swollen, well hers hasn't. From behind she looks a tiny tiny bit bigger but her actual vulva hasn't changed at all. She is cleaning herself loads and has made herself a bit sore on her belly.
I am now a bit worried that she may have an infection but i dont want to go rushing to the vet if it is just her season.
She was also a bit grumpy last night and this morning, she started 2 fights with our other dog, not sure if that means anything.
Thanks Debbie
Sounds like it could well be her first season, shes still a young dog and her hormones will be all over the place, our bitches get very grumpy when they are in season, so you may well have to keep her seperated from your other dog for the time being, just to make sure no fights happen whilst shes feeling like this.
Thanks for the reply Mollmoo
She is keeping really clean so its hard to tell.
Debbie.
Ps. I am seperating them at night when we are all in bed and when we go out. I am with them the rest of the time.
take it as the start of her season. not all bitches swell much and especially on the first day or 2.
