Hi everyone

I am thinking of ordering the book 'how to housebreak you dog in 7 days' by Shirlee Kalstone and before i do i would like to know if anyone has got or has read it and would like to know what sort of technique they use and does it work. I would like to know before i order cause i dont want a book that uses force or anything like that

Have you tried to order it through your local library first? May save you the cost of purchasing it and then if it's worth a second read and you would like a copy you could always buy one :)

I've read it and i would suggest you save  your money. I didn't think it was very good and i am sure some pups would not take to the training...

Thank you for your replys. I dont think i will bother to order it now. I will stick to the method that we are using now. Anyway it will take 3-6 weeks till i wil be dilivered and fingers cross they should be house trained by then!! :D

7 days...yea right, any doog that gives a short time is not worth it..."learn A/S sociology in a weekend"...$ weeks in and we have done a fraction of one topic....lol  Thats as an example!

I bought it, but didn't feel comfortable with the methods it advocated.  It involves leaving your dog in a crate for prolonged periods during the day for the training period.  Although Molly sleeps in a crate at night, we didn't want to put her in it all day too: it was hard enough convincing her that the crate was a nice place to sleep in.  I don't think she'd have thought that at all if she spent all week in it.

A dog is not trained in ANYTHING in a week...............!

YOU on the other hand, can condition yourself to taking out the dog at regular intervals so that the likelihood of a mistake is minimised.....................
